Is JaMarcus Russell done in Oakland?

Is life as a Raiders over for JaMarcus Russell, i think so. Its is likely that he will be released before the start of the season, if not this week then when the Raiders make there final roster cuts.

There is a possibility of the Raiders holding on to
Russell for the remainder of the season as a back up for Jason Campbell who was acquired via a trade from the Redskins for a 4Th Round pick in the 2012 draft . The only reason i can see them keeping Russell on the roster for the whole season is because he knows the offence, well he is supposed to..

Russell was draft in 2007 as the 1st overall pick. Since then that has really been the high light of his career. In his 1st season as a Raiders he played in 4 games throwing 2 Touchdowns and 4 interceptions. In his second year he improved, playing in all but 1 game during the 2008 season, he Threw 13 Touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Not amazing numbers but at least he had more touchdowns than interceptions this year. Last year he managed to show the NFL what he was really was, which isn't a NFL quarterback. He played in 12 games throwing just 3 touchdowns to his 11 interceptions.

It really does seem like his time is up in Oakland, he has had his time to adapt to the NFL and he hasn't. I mean maybe its not all JaMarcus's fault some people do say that a player is only as good as the team he play for. Maybe if he went to some were like the Jets, Ravens or Falcons. Then maybe his career would be a whole lot different, but then we get to the what ifs and the could have been and that a road no one should go down.

I think Raiders should release this guy, he ain't done anything for them over the 3 years he has been there. Plus they are about to talk a $9 million hit to the salary cap if they don't get rid of him soon. If your Tom Cable you get rid of him, you have a Jason Campbell who hasn't really had a lighting start to his career but things can change and he still a big step up from Russell. Paying Russell $9 million to sit on the bench isn't a wise move. There are better Free agents out there that could back Campbell up, for less money.

Hard time for Tebow

Hello readers sorry it has been along time but had to take a time out due to some issues. Anyway i am back now and ready to express my views and get some of yours.

First i think i will start off with Tim Tebow newly drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 1st round of the NFL draft. Many people say it was a bad choice picking Tebow at all, never mind taking him so high in the draft. Especially seeming other QB rated higher than him in the draft dropped to the 3rd round.

But Tebow is exactly what Josh Mcdaniels is looking for in his players, Great character. Although character isn't everything, its what he seems to be filling his locker room with. So its is a good job this kid comes with a lot of wins behind him. Plus a lot of awards, I mean in 4 years with the Gators he played in 55 games, threw 88 Touchdowns and only 15 Interceptions. He also rushed for over 500 yards in his last 3 years putting him just under 3,000 rushing yards with 57 rushing touchdowns.

They are incredible numbers, But now this is were the problems starts. Can he convert that into the NFL, obviously the rushing yards will not be anywhere near what they were in college, Forget 15 Rushes a games think more 20 a season at most unless they run the wildcat a lot. Looking at his Passing stats he could be a great player, if he can adapt to the NFL. If he can then Broncos may well have the 2ND replacement for John Elway after trading the other (Jay Cutler) away, But i am sure if Tebow is as good as Cutler was for the Broncos, he won't be going anywhere.

My view is that this guy has amazing skill and he can succeed in anything he puts his heart in, that's how he has made it this far. But he is going to have to work hard at it, he has a lot of competition for the starting role in Denver. I think he can play in the NFL, not yet though he needs a year or 2 to develop and get used to the pace of the pro's. But i have no doubt he will be the face off the broncos franchise in years to come.

I think could take a year for him to challenge Orton. But that really depends on how Kyle does this year, he really has his back up against the wall. McDaniels may have come out and said "you are my guy, you will start" But every team needs competition and with 3 other guy biting at his ankles to get his job, he has to play hard and play well.

Critics say he can't do it,but they have been saying that all his life, you can't play QB in high school, you can't play QB in college. Now its time to prove the critics wrong again. He is going to be a fun guy to watch over the next couple of years. Thanks for reading please leave you comments

When Will it end?

The question is when will the arguing in Denver end, i think the answer to that question is when Jay Cutler leaves Denver, The issue is way past resolving and way past Cutler staying in Denver.

I am a Bronco fan and i would hate to see Jay Cutler leave Denver, but at first i thought this issue could be resolved and keep jay in Denver. But after it has been dragged threw the mood, i think the only way this will end is when Jay Cutler leaves.

I think the thing is now that Jay Cutler wants out of Denver and not Josh McDaniels wants Cutler out. I think Cutler took a few things the wrong way, but wasnt ment in that way.

Now Cutler has a lot of options, he has already started the process and has asked the Broncos for a trade. But who would trade for him, well a lot of teams. But then they have to give Broncos what they want and what Cutler wants.

The best thing for the Broncos to do is trade for the 1st pick of the 2009 draft from the Detroit Lions. But i doubt Cutler would like to go there, then there's the Bears, Buccaneers are also a good choice. But all these need to be able to give the Broncos something they want as well as Cutler so it could be a while.

Last but not least the Broncos could force Jay Cutler to stay and play for the Broncos this year, this is not the best option for the Broncos but it wouldn't be healthy for the Broncos as a team.

Mike Peterson signs for Falcons

Former Jaguars Linebacker Mike Peterson has signed for the Atlanta Falcons, he will be reunited with his old defensive coach from Jacksonville.

Peterson got a two year deal and financial terms weren't disclosed.

Atlanta was looking for a veteran linebacker after they lost Pro Bowl Keith Brooking to the Dallas Cowboys and Michael Boley in free agency, who started most of last season at strong side line backer, to the New York Giants. The only full-time starter still on the Falcons' roster is middle linebacker Curtis Lofton in his 2ND season this season.

Peterson's days in Jacksonville were numbered after he ran afoul of Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio last year. Peterson was sent home twice for insubordination and fined $10,000 and benched for a game during Jacksonville's disappointing 5-11 season.

Other news, Cleveland Browns sign former Ravens CB Corey Ivy, Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Kurt Warner has undergone surgery on his hip and will most likely miss mini camp in may.

Cutler gets the call

New Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels and QB Jay Cutler have talked for the first time this week since the trade talks became public. Cutler spoke with McDaniels on Monday in a conference call, but it is not fully known what was discussed.

The call has been said to have only made things worse between McDaniels and Cutler, Cutler left the conversation feeling he would be traded by draft day, if the Broncos could find the right deal.

A team official with knowledge of the discussions, however, said that despite what other sources may be saying, the two sides did not grow farther apart in this conversation.

The person, who asked to remain anonymous because no one in the organization was authorized to speak publicly about the talks, said issues were discussed openly and it was re-emphasized that Cutler would not be traded. It was also stated that Cutler needed to meet with McDaniels in person to keep things moving in the right direction.

Cutler entered the conference call Monday believing the rift between him and McDaniels that grew out of the Broncos' attempts to trade the QB two weeks ago would be resolved. Instead, Cutler was told by McDaniels that no one is untradeable and that the QB was expected to report for the team's offseason conditioning program that begins Monday.

The conference call was the first step in what could be a long reconciliation process between the Broncos' new 32-year-old coach and his temperamental quarterback.
Josh McDaniels and Jay Cutler spoke on a conference call Monday and the Broncos look forward to talking to Jay in the future and certainly face to face.

Last week, the Broncos insisted Cutler wasn't on the trading block and said he and McDaniels would meet in Denver this week to clear the air.

T.O. to Buffalo

T.O. has found his new team after just 2 days on the market, he signed for the Buffalo Bills not one of the teams who were favorites to get him.

In the two days that T.O. was a free agents there were at least 3 teams came out and stated that they were not interested in T.O. Its not often that happens but with a player of his caliber your players will be wondering until you rule yourself out of the running.

Owens signed a one-year deal worth to a $6.5 million.

Looking at the Bills you have to wonder why he picked them, when the Saints and the Cardinals were interested in signing him. You would expect him to join a team that had a QB that was proven in the NFL, But as he said he will take the pressure of Lee Evans. But he will get what he wanted at the Cowboys, more looks. You can be sure that T.O. will be looked at by Trent Edwards.

Other news, Packers add S Anthony Smith, If RB Ryan Grant could squeeze $18 million out of the Packers over four years while the organization was trying to figure out what to do with QB Brett Favre last summer, then what’s stopping Packers CB Tramon Williams from getting his payday this time around?

T.O. done in Dallas

Terrell Owens has done his time in Dallas and has been released, now some people may be think what are the Cowboys doing.

But if you look at what a major distraction he has been for the Dallas Cowboys. You will understand and that he also had one of his least productive years last season.

Plus this also opens up a large amount of there salary cap. The WR carried $8.995 million. By releasing him before June, his 2009 salary-cap charge to Dallas accelerates to $9.675 million

There are some bad sides to this release, they won't be selling as many No.81 jerseys and Tony Romo will not have his main Receiver out on the field. But at least he won't have to listen to T.O. moaning, he has got enough balls thrown his way.

Owens may have a hard time trying to find a new team, as the teams will have to evaluate if he is worth the hassle he will cause. Yes he may catch 80 passes for 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns but if he is detracting you players at the wrong time, could cause a downfall in team morale and that's not want you want in your team.
Other News, Lions sign CB Phillip Buchanon to a two-year, $8.5 million deal. DE Demetric Evans signs a two-year deal worth $3.8 million with the 49ers. Bengals are expected to sign J.T. O’Sullivan as Carlson Palmer's Back-up. Torry Holt asks to leave St.Louis.
