QB rumours in Minnesota

There are rumours coming from Texas that there will be a 3rd QB in Minnesota next season, it has been reported that the Vikings are interested in trading for Sage Rosenfels.

It is reported that they are willing to trade a 4Th round draft pick for the 8 year pro. This seems weird because they already have 2 Quarterbacks with Tarvaris Jackson who played 8 games in 2008 and managed 1056 yards, 5 TD's and 2 INT and Gus Frerotte who played 11 games and gained 2157 yards, threw 12 TD and 15 Interceptions.

From that you can see they didnt have what you call a franchise QB but luckily neither do some of the other teams in there division who are reportedly looking for a QB the lions are linked with Mathew Stafford in the draft as they have the 1st pick. Also the Bears who are linked with any QB that has any possibility of moving teams.

But if you look at Rosenfels stats he hasn't really produced in the NFL, this could be put down to the lack of starting time he has had, only putting up 4156 yards and 30 TD in the 32 games he has played in over his 8 year career and lets not forget his 29 interceptions he has thrown. But maybe with a solid running game and a starting spot he could come through and take the vikings to the playoffs and maybe further.

Harrison out of Indy

Many people thought that Marvin Harrison would leave Indianapolis Colts with his career in a body bag. But yet another legend has left the Colts this year, first the legendary Tony Dungy said goodbye after 7 years and 1 Superbowl, But he will always be remembered as the first African American to win the Superbowl.

Harrison refused to take a pay cut to help out the teams financial position, so the colts came to a decision that they could not afford to keep him at the club any longer unless he agreed to take a home town discount.

In the end the teams did come to a agreement but it was to part ways after 13 seasons together, it is not yet official but they will save around $7 millions, although there is still around $ 6.4 millions in dead money. But don't worry they still come out with a $7 million extra salary cap.

But this was not a total surprise seeming how much the colts were paying him and how he performed last season. He holds most of receiver records for the colts and has the most NFL Pass Receptions in a season with 143, i am sure that the colts will miss his receiving threat and also a great Friends more than most Peyton Manning.

Harrison wanted to test the open market for the first time in his career as many players want to do at some stage in the career, he will want to go to a club were he can win another Superbowl ring and will get the money he wants.

But i don't think we have seen the last of him and may have a few more seasons left in the tank to make his already hall of fame career even better than it is now. There is no worry that he will be inducted in to the hall of fame the only question left to ask if when will he feel that enough is enough.
