Washington Redskins have been favourite to sign Albert Haynesworth for the past week now, but the Redskins said they didn't have a deal. Well either they lied or the got a deal done very fast, which would not surprised me if the Redskins put $100 million on the table straight away.
Yes that's right he is the highest paid player in there history of the NFL. The deal includes $41 million guaranteed in the first three years. The maximum value of the deal could be as much as $115 million for 7 years.
The Redskins have wasted no time in the free agency, hitting DeAngelo Hall with a 6 year contract worth $54 million as well. I wouldn't count on there being much more action in Washington in the free agency.
Ravens are set tol ose 1/3 of there Line Backers core, when Bart Scott Signs for the New York Jets who are willing to spend $8 million a year on Scott. But now the 2/3 may have gone for good and if so the Ravens locker room will not be the same without Ray Lewis. Lewis said his career at the Ravens is over and will take a few days to ponder on his options.
In other news Former Jacksonville Jaguars RB will join the New England Patriots, after visiting
them and the Bills yesterday. Taylor Will probably end his career as a Patriot. Patriots have also signed former Jets TE Chris Baker.
Visits;
As i have said in my recent post Chris Canty will visit the Redskins on Friday, Titans Saturday, Seahawks Monday, and then the 49ers if he’s still unsigned. but i doubt he will be signed by the Redskins after they spent $100 millions on Albert Haynesworth.
Foxworth will visit the Ravens, after being released from the Falcons. Bills are busy after losing Fred Taylor to the New England Patriots. The Bills could get Kevin Jones in and will get a visit from Drayton Florence on Thursday, he is considering returning to San Diego.
