When Will it end?

The question is when will the arguing in Denver end, i think the answer to that question is when Jay Cutler leaves Denver, The issue is way past resolving and way past Cutler staying in Denver.

I am a Bronco fan and i would hate to see Jay Cutler leave Denver, but at first i thought this issue could be resolved and keep jay in Denver. But after it has been dragged threw the mood, i think the only way this will end is when Jay Cutler leaves.

I think the thing is now that Jay Cutler wants out of Denver and not Josh McDaniels wants Cutler out. I think Cutler took a few things the wrong way, but wasnt ment in that way.

Now Cutler has a lot of options, he has already started the process and has asked the Broncos for a trade. But who would trade for him, well a lot of teams. But then they have to give Broncos what they want and what Cutler wants.

The best thing for the Broncos to do is trade for the 1st pick of the 2009 draft from the Detroit Lions. But i doubt Cutler would like to go there, then there's the Bears, Buccaneers are also a good choice. But all these need to be able to give the Broncos something they want as well as Cutler so it could be a while.

Last but not least the Broncos could force Jay Cutler to stay and play for the Broncos this year, this is not the best option for the Broncos but it wouldn't be healthy for the Broncos as a team.

Mike Peterson signs for Falcons

Former Jaguars Linebacker Mike Peterson has signed for the Atlanta Falcons, he will be reunited with his old defensive coach from Jacksonville.

Peterson got a two year deal and financial terms weren't disclosed.

Atlanta was looking for a veteran linebacker after they lost Pro Bowl Keith Brooking to the Dallas Cowboys and Michael Boley in free agency, who started most of last season at strong side line backer, to the New York Giants. The only full-time starter still on the Falcons' roster is middle linebacker Curtis Lofton in his 2ND season this season.

Peterson's days in Jacksonville were numbered after he ran afoul of Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio last year. Peterson was sent home twice for insubordination and fined $10,000 and benched for a game during Jacksonville's disappointing 5-11 season.

Other news, Cleveland Browns sign former Ravens CB Corey Ivy, Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Kurt Warner has undergone surgery on his hip and will most likely miss mini camp in may.

Cutler gets the call

New Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels and QB Jay Cutler have talked for the first time this week since the trade talks became public. Cutler spoke with McDaniels on Monday in a conference call, but it is not fully known what was discussed.

The call has been said to have only made things worse between McDaniels and Cutler, Cutler left the conversation feeling he would be traded by draft day, if the Broncos could find the right deal.

A team official with knowledge of the discussions, however, said that despite what other sources may be saying, the two sides did not grow farther apart in this conversation.

The person, who asked to remain anonymous because no one in the organization was authorized to speak publicly about the talks, said issues were discussed openly and it was re-emphasized that Cutler would not be traded. It was also stated that Cutler needed to meet with McDaniels in person to keep things moving in the right direction.

Cutler entered the conference call Monday believing the rift between him and McDaniels that grew out of the Broncos' attempts to trade the QB two weeks ago would be resolved. Instead, Cutler was told by McDaniels that no one is untradeable and that the QB was expected to report for the team's offseason conditioning program that begins Monday.

The conference call was the first step in what could be a long reconciliation process between the Broncos' new 32-year-old coach and his temperamental quarterback.
Josh McDaniels and Jay Cutler spoke on a conference call Monday and the Broncos look forward to talking to Jay in the future and certainly face to face.

Last week, the Broncos insisted Cutler wasn't on the trading block and said he and McDaniels would meet in Denver this week to clear the air.

T.O. to Buffalo

T.O. has found his new team after just 2 days on the market, he signed for the Buffalo Bills not one of the teams who were favorites to get him.

In the two days that T.O. was a free agents there were at least 3 teams came out and stated that they were not interested in T.O. Its not often that happens but with a player of his caliber your players will be wondering until you rule yourself out of the running.

Owens signed a one-year deal worth to a $6.5 million.

Looking at the Bills you have to wonder why he picked them, when the Saints and the Cardinals were interested in signing him. You would expect him to join a team that had a QB that was proven in the NFL, But as he said he will take the pressure of Lee Evans. But he will get what he wanted at the Cowboys, more looks. You can be sure that T.O. will be looked at by Trent Edwards.

Other news, Packers add S Anthony Smith, If RB Ryan Grant could squeeze $18 million out of the Packers over four years while the organization was trying to figure out what to do with QB Brett Favre last summer, then what’s stopping Packers CB Tramon Williams from getting his payday this time around?

T.O. done in Dallas

Terrell Owens has done his time in Dallas and has been released, now some people may be think what are the Cowboys doing.

But if you look at what a major distraction he has been for the Dallas Cowboys. You will understand and that he also had one of his least productive years last season.

Plus this also opens up a large amount of there salary cap. The WR carried $8.995 million. By releasing him before June, his 2009 salary-cap charge to Dallas accelerates to $9.675 million

There are some bad sides to this release, they won't be selling as many No.81 jerseys and Tony Romo will not have his main Receiver out on the field. But at least he won't have to listen to T.O. moaning, he has got enough balls thrown his way.

Owens may have a hard time trying to find a new team, as the teams will have to evaluate if he is worth the hassle he will cause. Yes he may catch 80 passes for 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns but if he is detracting you players at the wrong time, could cause a downfall in team morale and that's not want you want in your team.
Other News, Lions sign CB Phillip Buchanon to a two-year, $8.5 million deal. DE Demetric Evans signs a two-year deal worth $3.8 million with the 49ers. Bengals are expected to sign J.T. O’Sullivan as Carlson Palmer's Back-up. Torry Holt asks to leave St.Louis.

Chris Simms signs for Broncos

QB Chris Simms has signed for the Denver Broncos, but don't worry the Broncos have no intention's of starting him over Jay Cutler. Simms will be insurance in case Cutler every gets injured.

Simms has signed a two year deal with the Broncos, the numbers are unknown at this time. He has not yet signed the contract, but he will do soon.

Simms has not seen much action since he played 11 games in 2005 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since then he has played in 4 games, but only started in 3. Cutlers back up from last season Patrick Ramsey has not yet signed for a team in the FA.

After all the talk about Quarterbacks in Denver, who would have thought that they would have signed a back-up, i suppose this could be McDaniels way of saying to Cutler your are starter here's your back-up.

Jay Cutler will meet with Josh McDaniels sometime next week, hopefully to start building bridges in there relationship. McDaniels also meet with Brandon Marshal Yesterday and you can be sure there was words said about the incident in Atlanta.

Lewis back in Baltimore

Ray Lewis has finally made his decision and will re-join the Baltimore Ravens, from the beginning there was no question on were Ray Lewis was going until, DeMarcus Ware came out and said that Lewis did not want to go back to the Ravens.

For a few days after this statement was made, it looked like Lewis was not going to return to Baltimore. But then Ray Lewis came out and cleared up the subject by confirming that he didn't say he would not return to the Ravens and would still go back if he was asked.

The deal has yet to be signed on the dotted line, but they have agreed on a deal. The contract is reported to be along the lines of three-years, worth $20 million to $25 million. The deal should be finalized in the next few days.

With C Jason Brown signing with the Rams, Baltimore were in need of someone to fill the roll. So they went out and signed veteran C Matt Birkon on Wednesday, who has spent his entire career in Minnesota.

Other news, TE L.J. Smith will visit the Falcons, the Falcons need a TE to replace Alge Crumpler, who was let go last season.

Broncos Sign 2 RB and DE

The Denver Broncos have signed another RB from the free agency LaMont Jordan and also manage to complete the signing of RB J.J Arrington.

Arrington had a deal with the Broncos but it fell thought due to some snags in the contract. But they have now agreed on a deal. Jordan will get a two-year contract worth $2.5 million and Arrington will get a four-year deal and $10 million contract.

DE Kenny Peterson re-signs for the Broncos on a four year deal. Peterson played in every game last season, getting 24 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

Denver also has a three-year, $4.5 million offer sheet signed with restricted free agent David Anderson from the Houston Texans. Houston have until Friday to match the Broncos' offer or work out a trade. If the Broncos Sign Anderson they will have spent around the same amount of money on 11 players, as the Redskins did on Albert Haynesworth.

Other News, DE Demetric Evans is in negotiations with the 49ers and Redskins. QB Kurt Warner has agreed to go back to the Arizona desert for a two-year deal worth $23 million, including $19 million guaranteed. Saints re-sign WR Henderson. Ray Lewis is expected to sign for Ravens in the next 24 hours. Giants sign Safety C.C. Brown. Bengals sign WR Laveranues Coles to try and replace T.J. Houshmanzadeh.

Broncos shopping for a backup

Now the Denver Broncos have publicly said that Jay Cutler is there QB, the next step is to find someone to back him up. They could well end up with the best back up in Denver since Jay Cutler was Backing up Jake Plummer.

The Broncos are looking to sign QB Chris Simms, he is scheduled to visit Denver on Wednesday. Broncos last back up was Patrick Ramsey, who was with the Broncos for two seasons and played in 3 games, threw for 281 yards, 1 Touchdown and 1 INT.

Andre Goodman has said that Denver Broncos would not let him go to Cleveland, which is were he was meant to visit after the Broncos. Josh McDaniels seems to know how to make his players that he signs feel welcome. Goodman said that he did not want to leave Denver because with his meeting with McDaniels, he made him feel that the team wanted him not needed.

Jay Cutler is staying in Denver for the up coming season after Josh McDaniels came out and said that Cutler is our QB. But it didn't make the situation easier that it took 4 days for him to come out and tell the world that Cutler is our QB. Broncos could still lose there starting WR for most if not all of the 2009 season.

Florence goes to Buffalo

CB Drayton Florence was rumoured to be heading back to San Diego, but has signed for the Buffalo Bills for two-year deal worth $6.6 million. The deal can grow to $7.3 million with incentives.

The rumours that Florence was going back to the Chargers were due to CB Antonio Cromartie was said to be on the trading block and the Chargers were interested in Florence to replace Cromartie. But now Florence has signed for the Bills the Chargers have now come out and said Cromartie is not on the trading block.

The Chargers are still looking to improve their secondary. The team brought in safety Jermaine Phillips for a visit on Tuesday.

Other news, If Kurt Warner does go back too Arizona he will take less money if it keeps Boldin at the Cardinals. Josh McDaniels says they are not trading Cutler. TE L.J. Smith will visit the Lions on Wednesday, few other teams need a TE aswell. Bills may sign another player soon, LB Cato June. RB Edgerrin James asks the Cardinals to release him. RB Cedric Benson Re-signs for Bengals, Also former Bears team mate Rex Grossman will visit Cincinnati.

Ward Signs for Bucs

Derrick Ward has finally pick a team, after all the speculation of were he was going to go he has decided to go to Tampa.

The Buccaneers released Warrick Dunn before the start of FA, so they were in the market for a RB. But i think the best thing for them to do would have been to take a RB in the draft, they may still do that but Ward will be the start in Tampa.

Ward agreed to a four-year contract worth $17 million. He will make $6 million in guaranteed money in the first year and $9.25 million over two years, and $13 million over three years.
The Bucs may not finish there they are link to the newest FA on the market Jason Taylor, there is going to be a lot of interested on Taylor and i don't think it will take him long to sign for a team.

Other news, Coles Visits Bengals to replace T.J. CB Antonio Cromartie could be on the trading block after a bad 2008 seasons. Dolphins are close to a deal with Raiders center Jake Grove, Miami was also thought to be in the mix for center Jason Brown who signed with St. Louis Rams. Tra Thomas visits Jacksonville Jaguars. Browns sign Chris Carr. Cedric Benson is interested him joining Texans. The Rams could be looking to trade Torry Holt and Orlando Pace

Taylor realsed

The Redskins have released DE Jason Taylor after just one season in DC, this is probably due to the recent signing of Albert Haynesworth.

i did think at first that they were going to released Taylor at some point, then when you think of what Haynesworth and Taylor could have done for the Redskins defence. Haynesworth is that good he can the the job for the other players easier, maybe Jim Zorn took that literally as who ever he puts there can do well.

But needs must after spending so much on other players, they must have needed to free up some cap run i just didn't think Taylor would have been the one. but it is the logical move after getting one, if not the best Defensive Linemen in the game.

I think a possibility of were Taylor could go is Denver, they had a awful DL last season and they are still looking for leader, i think the rumour of Ray Lewis going to Denver is over so how many other FA out there could be leader on Defence.

Other news, the charges on Brandon Marshall have been dropped but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will review the case. Rams re-sign CB Ron Bartell. Titans sign WR Nate Washington and DT Jovan Haye. WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh sign a $40 million deal with the Seahawks. Patriots have re-signed S James Sanders after Randy Moss restructure his contract. Ray Lewis May be forced to rejoin Ravens as his options are running out. CB Samari Rolle wants to be released after the signing of Domonique Foxworth.

Marshall needs to grow up

Brandon Marshall said that he would behave himself and keep out of trouble after what happened last year, but its clear that he hasn't stuck to his word as he was arrested in Atlanta on yesterday.

An Atlanta City Jail supervisor told The Denver Post that Marshall was booked on a disorderly conduct charge at 5:58 a.m. Marshall was released at 10:24 a.m. after posting a $300 bond.

The charge means Marshall could face a lengthy suspension it is possible he could miss up to a full season, for violating the league's personal-conduct policy. Marshall missed one game last season and also managed to fall through a TV set.

I think the best way the Broncos can make sure he will stay out of trouble is to maybe lock him up for the off-season or get someone to look after him. Because he is becoming to much of a liability to keep on the team and josh McDaniels does not stand for that kind of behaviour. Maybe Marshall is just acting out at the thought of jay Cutler leaving, but this is just another reason for Cutler to leave. He wasn't happy last year, i doubt he will be impressed this year.

CB Goodman signs

Broncos just keep signing, they have signed CB Andre Goodman who will more than likely fill in for former Broncos player Dre Bly.

The former Miami Dolphins CB, agreed to a five-year deal for $20.4 million with Broncos. That can reach up to $25 million, if he plays 75 percent of the defensive snaps. The deal also including nearly $9.8 million in guarantees money, better believe Goodman will be counted on to participate in 75 percent of the plays.

I think a better moved would have been to keep Dominique Foxworth last season because i think he is one of the most under rated CB in the league and is still young. After playing a few years under Bly and Bailey he could have stepped in now Bly has gone.

J.J Arrington may not be a Broncos

On the first day of free agency the Broncos signed RB J.J Arrington on a four year deal. But when his agent has looked through the contract he has seen there are a few whole in it, this could mean that Arrington's contract would fall through and if the Broncos would sign him again is a different question.

But the next piece of news tells you that they may not want to bring him back, as the Broncos have invited RB Derrick Ward yesterday. Ward was the favorite to come to Denver before the free agency but his costly price tag put them off. The Broncos may have pulled off a sneaky trick as Ward has visited other teams and has come away without a deal, Ward visited the Eagles and the Bengals.

He was looking for a deal around the same that Micheal Turner got from joining the Falcons after being LaDainian Tomlinson back up, which was six-year contract for $34.5 million. His price tag may be slipping now after visiting teams and coming away without a deal. So the Broncos may have played this well maybe they didn't plan it but with J.J Arrington Gone leaves space for Ward to come in. Ward will more than likely be the starter unlike Buckhalter and Arrington who were probably going to be back ups.

Moving on the rumours about Jay Cutlers trade continue now there are rumours that Cutler is asking for a trade and he said this "We'll see where I end up at. I liked it here, I liked playing with these guys, but obviously they're not going to let me have that opportunity." Jay Cutler thought he was the Broncos Franchise QB so did everybody, But if he was i don't think Josh McDaniels would trade him so he must have other ideas. but maybe he just wanted to bring Matt Cassell to the Broncos because so far this off-season he has brought a few players and coaches from New England.

other news, DT Rocky Bernard signs for the Giants. DE Antonio Smith has signed for the Texans five-year deal for $35 million which includes $12.5 million. Michael Clayton Decides to Stay in Tampa. Keith Brooking Joins the Cowboys which rules out Ray Lewis. Stacy Andrews Joins his brother Shawn Andrews at the Eagles. Kurt Warner Visits the San Fransisco 49ers.

Cutler's upset

It would have been every Broncos fan worst nightmare and Jay Cutler wasn't too happy about it. Matt Cassel was going to be the most wanted QB of the free agency and he wasn't a free agent, Tampa Bay Detroit and Kansas all wanted Cassel.

The Buccaneers came up with a offer that would be very tempting to many teams and we will never know for sure but it is said that the Broncos were tempted. they wanted a 3 way deal between the Buccaneers, Patriots and Broncos. this would see Cutler in Tampa Bay and Cassel in Denver. But the Chiefs got there first and traded for Matt Cassel.

Jay Cutler found out about the deal that had been offered but although the Broncos said that they were not interested there was no proof that they turned down the deal which means that they could have been thing about the deal. But got beat to the finish line, so to cover there backs they denied it.

Dawkins Signs, Davis and Reid too

It is finally official Brian Dawkins has signed for the Denver Broncos. Josh McDaniels seems to have a Theme to his free agent signing. Day one he signs his offensive players and Day two he signs his defensive players, whats in store for day Three?

Dawkins Signed a five-year deal worth $17 million that includes $7.2 million in guaranteed Money, The contract could go upto the value of $27 million over five years, but the deal could go down to two years for $9 million. The Broncos have added another two players to the roster, Cleveland Browns LB Andra Davis on a two-year deal and DT Darrell Reid for a $6.8 million deal for 3 years.

Although the Broncos have gone all out in the first two days, i doubt they have finished signing players. Another Miami Dolphin is coming to visit Denver, CB Andre Goodman who led the team in interceptions last season with 5. It is not a lot but it is more than any Broncos player got last season.

Other news John Kitna has been traded to the Cowboys. the Giants are trying to finalize a deal with LB Michael Boley. Brandon Jones signs a five-year deal with 49ers worth $16.5 million with $5.4 million guaranteed. Adam Jones has join a reality TV show after saying he does not think his career in the NFL was over. The Jets Re-sign Brandon Moore. Lions Sign Bryant Johnson who will probably be and WR.

Cassel Trades to Chiefs

Bad news for all you Broncos fans not only do they have to play Larry Johnson twice a season, now the Chiefs may have found there answer to the passing game.

The Patriots traded Matt Cassel to the Chiefs for a second-round pick (34th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft, who will follow his team mate Mike Vrabel to Kansas. Vrabel was traded yesterday to the Chiefs, GM Scott Pioli has not made any free agent signings yet. But he has brought 2 familiar faces with him from New England.
Other News, Jon Stinchcomb re-Signs With New Orleans Saints for 5 More Years, Kurt Waner is speaking with both the Cardinals and the 49ers.

After 6 1/2 season Mike Leach will part ways with the Broncos, if his request to be released is met. But it is very unlikely that the Broncos were planning on keeping him in Denver.

New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles are completing a trade that will send CB Lito Sheppard to the Jets and the Eagles will receive a 2009 fifth-round pick and a 2010 conditional draft pick. The Redskins have signed former Bills guard Derrick Dockery on a five-year, $26 million deal that includes $8.2 in guaranteed money. Brian Dawkins is a Bronco

The Denver Broncos have been very busy over the last few hours and they still haven't finished. There are reports that Brian Dawkins is all but wearing the Broncos jerseys, but we will have to wait until tomorrow for confirmation.

I am unsure of any of the contract details, but i will post them as soon as i know what they are.

You can be sure that the Broncos signing spree will slow down, it won't stop but they will not be signing 6 players in a day again.

Also there have been other veterans linked to Denver such as the all pro linebacker Ray Lewis. I am not quite sure this would happen but it would be great for Broncos Fans.

Broncos Sign 4 more

The Denver Broncos have finally signed J.J Arrington and Correll Buckhalter today giving Buckhalter a 4 year contact. I think its is unlikely one of theses RB's will start this season, But maybe Josh McDaniels may make them share time time at RB. No one will no until the start of the season.

Denver signed WR Jabar Gaffney for a four-year contract worth $10 million deal that includes $3 million guaranteed. Former Miami Dolphins S Renaldo Hill signed a four-year, $10 million that also includes $3 million guaranteed.

Broncos may have signed 5 players today, but u can be sure that Josh McDaniels will not stop there as he may have fixed the offence side as much as he can for now. But he still has allot of work to do on the defence.

In other news Ray Lewis has said that the comment that said he would not come back and join the Ravens was not true. Former Seahawks RB Maurice Morris has signed a 3 year deal worth $7 million a year with the Detriot Lions. The Saints re-signed linebacker Jonathan Vilma for 5 years and $34 million contract that includes $17 million guaranteed and $23 million for first three years

Broncos Sign a LS

From all the news about Denver who would have thought that out of no were they would sign a LS.

Lonnie Paxton signed a five-year deal for $5.5 with the Broncos that includes a $1 million signing bonus. This makes Paxton the 2ND highest paid long snapper in the NFL.

Also the Steelers have Re-signed G Chris Kemoeatu,
DE Antonio Smith should arrive in Houston tonight ready to visit them on Sunday. RB Derrick Ward is scheduled to visit the Bengals on Saturday.

Broncos need a waiting room

The Broncos have had 4 visit today, Brian Dawkins has decided to drop in too. He is the 2ND safety to visit Denver.

Brian Dawkins would be a great signing for the Denver Broncos as there Secondary last season was not good at all. S Renaldo Hill, WR Jabar Gaffney, RBs J.J. Arrington and Correll Buckhalter all visited Denver today.

It has been said that J.J. Arrington and Correll Buckhalter have already signed contract for the Broncos, but this is not certain. I will Report on the story if and when it is final. This also leaves the question who will start at RB in Denver next season?

Gaffney is also said to be close to a deal with the Broncos and should have signed by sometimes tomorrow.

In other news DB Eugene Wilson was a free agent for weeks last year. This year, he sat on the market for hours and ended up signing for the same team. He agreed on a three-year worth $11.3 million deal with the Houston Texans. Ravens have cut DE Marques Douglas. Tampa Bay Buccaneers completed a trade today for TE Kellen Winslow, giving a undisclosed draft picks to Cleveland. Mike Vrabel joins Scott Pioli in Kansas for undisclosed draft choice. S Chris Crocker resigns with Bengals for a four-years $10 million and $3.5 guaranteed. is wasn't a matter of if it was a matter of when, the Viking have been waiting to seal the deal of Sage Rosenfels for days now and its finally happened he signed a 2 year deal for $9 million.

Ex Denver Broncos Player Domonique Foxworth played for Atlanta Falcons for less than a year and has now moved on to play for one of the best Defences in the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens

Haynesworth is going to DC

Washington Redskins have been favourite to sign Albert Haynesworth for the past week now, but the Redskins said they didn't have a deal. Well either they lied or the got a deal done very fast, which would not surprised me if the Redskins put $100 million on the table straight away.

Yes that's right he is the highest paid player in there history of the NFL. The deal includes $41 million guaranteed in the first three years. The maximum value of the deal could be as much as $115 million for 7 years.

The Redskins have wasted no time in the free agency, hitting DeAngelo Hall with a 6 year contract worth $54 million as well. I wouldn't count on there being much more action in Washington in the free agency.
Ravens are set tol ose 1/3 of there Line Backers core, when Bart Scott Signs for the New York Jets who are willing to spend $8 million a year on Scott. But now the 2/3 may have gone for good and if so the Ravens locker room will not be the same without Ray Lewis. Lewis said his career at the Ravens is over and will take a few days to ponder on his options.
In other news Former Jacksonville Jaguars RB will join the New England Patriots, after visiting
them and the Bills yesterday. Taylor Will probably end his career as a Patriot. Patriots have also signed former Jets TE Chris Baker.
Visits;
As i have said in my recent post Chris Canty will visit the Redskins on Friday, Titans Saturday, Seahawks Monday, and then the 49ers if he’s still unsigned. but i doubt he will be signed by the Redskins after they spent $100 millions on Albert Haynesworth.
Foxworth will visit the Ravens, after being released from the Falcons. Bills are busy after losing Fred Taylor to the New England Patriots. The Bills could get Kevin Jones in and will get a visit from Drayton Florence on Thursday, he is considering returning to San Diego.

RB's Visiting Denver

As i have said before i will be reporting on all the big news in the NFL, but i will report on any news that comes out of Denver.

First i would like to state that it is very unlikely that the Broncos will be getting RB Derrick Ward, as Josh McDaniels has made his first move of the free agency, scheduling visits for RBs J.J. Arrington who played for the Superbowl runners up and Correll Buckhalter for the Philadelphia Eagals.

I would say that RB is the only position on the offence that needs tweaking, also i have reported this in my free agency round, but S Renaldo Hill will also visit the Broncos on Friday after he was released by the Dolphins earlier this year. Wide receiver Jabar Gaffney is scheduled visit Denver on Friday. They have also attempted to schedule a visit for DT Ronnie Fields, but nothing is yet certain.

Free agency round up

Free agency is underway and already teams have started to sign players, i will be keeping you up to date on all the signing in the NFL.

CB DeAngelo Hall has signed a 6 year deal with the Washington Redskins, as the free agency started Hall and the Redskins wasted no time agreeing on a deal. Hall will get $54 million which includes $22.5 million guaranteed and $30 million in the first three seasons.

The Washington Redskins await word from Albert Haynesworth, they have to pursue other option so they have scheduled a visit from DE Chris Canty. Although the Redskins will not be able to sign both Haynesworth and Canty especially after signing DeAngelo Hall , Canty will be the first visitor to the Redskins this offseason.

Kurt Warner and the Cardinals have not reached a deal so the he will become a free agent, it was said that if he didn't sign a new deal with Cardinals then he would retire. The Cardinals say that they are still working on a deal, but he could still end up finding a new home. Maybe the windy city of Chicago.

The Dolphins Managed to re-sign one of the players they wanted before free agency started, S Yeremiah Bell signed a deal that would keep him in Miami for another 4 year with a deal worth $20 million and $10 million guaranteed. But the did not manage to work out a deal with CB Andre Goodman so he will become a free agent. this was just hour after they signed S Gibril Wilson on a 5 year deal worth $27.5 million that includes $8 million guaranteed and $16.5 million for the first three years of the deal.

San Fransisco will try and work out a deal with Alex Smith who will make $9.625 million this year and the 49ers will not allow that, i would think if Smith does not take a new contract he will be released.

Minnasota Vikings are likely to seal the deal at some point today with the Houston Texans QB Sage Rosenfels. Rosenfels will be traded from the Texans to the Vikings for a 4Th round pick, This will give the Vikings even more depth at QB.

Dallas Cowboys have cut QB Brad Johnson and S Roy Williams this will free up around $4.18 million on there salary cap. The Jets have re-signed FB Tony Richardson for a year year deal worth around $500,000 in guarantee money. Buffalo Bills have not yet finished trimming there roaster as they cut G Derrick Dockery and TE Robert Royal. Jeff Saturday has decided to stay with the Colts after rumours that he might be joining the Steelers.

Visits;
DB Renaldo Hill is scheduled to visit Denver today, after he spent the last 8 years at the Miami Dolphins.
OL Jason Brown will visit St.Louis Rams as there has been allot of talk about Brown as he can play Guard or Centre.
OL Geoff Hangartner is scheduled to visit the Buffalo Bills on Friday, If they do sign him he will be a replacement for G Derrick Dockery who they cut on Thursday.

Free agency update

With free agency less than a day away, the teams are still trying to re-sign the players they want to keep. I am just going to bring you up to date with all the news around the NFL free agency.

Miami Dolphins have re-signed 2 players in the last few days, they got LB Channing Crowder with a multi-year deal just a few days after re-signing OT Vernon Carey. with less than 24 hours to go before Free agency starts the Dolphins still want to re-sign S Yeremiah Bell and CB Andre Goodman.

Yesterday the Rams released Veteran Trent Green and Drew Bennett, they won't save as much money as they would have liked due to Bennett taking under $5 million of the rams salary cap and Green taking $1.4 million but altogether they made a saving of around $1.8 million.
The Giants Franchised him and now they have signed him, Brandon Jacobs was franchised earlier this offseason, but now the giants have made sure he is not going anywhere for the next 4 years without a trade. Jacobs signed a $25 million deal and gets $13 million in guaranteed money with $15 million for the first two years

Washington Redskins and Albert Haynesworth have not got a deal, i reported that they might be close to a deal. But the Redskins have said that they do not have a deal with Haynesworth, although that does not mean that they are not in the running to sign him. If they were to sign him it would hit the salary cap hard. But it is still uncertain were he is going to go he could even end up back in Tennessee.

New York Jets have released Laweranues Coles. He did still have 1 year left on his contract, but after stating he wants a long term deal the jets decided to let him test the market. The Jets have said he is welcome back, but that does not seem likely as they do not want to give him a long term deal.

Could a world class Center be joining a world championship team, there have been reports that Jeff Saturday would like to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers and after last season i doubt the Steelers would say no, after Ben Roethlisberger was sacked 47 times last season. Jeff also said that he would change position from Center to Guard if that meant he could play in Pittsburgh as the Steelers starting Guard may be lost in free agency.

Also the Falcons may lose Keith Brooking to free agency as the two sides have not reached a agreement on his contract. The Houston Texans released DE Anthony Weaver, S Will Demps and OT Ephraim Salaam. Kicker Mike Nugent is going to test the market this year as he turned down the jets contract. Adam Jones has said that he does not think he has blown his chances in the NFL after he was released from the Cowboys.

Combine Ends

With the combine over the young stars can go back to there colleges ready for the pro day on the 1st April. But the NFL is getting ready for a very busy free agency which starts on Friday.

There are already rumours about where players are going to go and teams have still not finished releasing players to make room in the cap.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released 5 players with some veterans in there Joey Galloway, Warrick Dunn, Cato June, Ike Hilliard and Derrick Brooks. these players are adding to the big names who are already free agents, that is going to cause lots of rumours and big wholes in teams salary cap.

Washington Redskins have released T Chris Samuels and DT Cornelius Griffin but this could be making room for the all pro Albert Haynesworth might be coming to Washington, but i wouldn't count on it Albert wants to test the market but I'm sure he wants to go somewhere successfully.

Fred Taylor looks like he could be heading towards the east of the AFC, as it has been reported that he is has already visited the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriot. How he would fit into either of these teams with the Bills having Marshawn Lynch i don't really see him starting in buffalo. The Patriots have Lawrence Maroney which he could challenge for the starting spot which is what he reportedly wants to do.

Other News Tennessee Titans are interested in unrestricted free agent Nate Washington, Kurt Warner has said if the Cardinals don't re-sign him he will retire and Carolina Panthers Released Nick Goings, Jeremy Bridges and D.J. Hackett on Wednesday.

QB rumours in Minnesota

There are rumours coming from Texas that there will be a 3rd QB in Minnesota next season, it has been reported that the Vikings are interested in trading for Sage Rosenfels.

It is reported that they are willing to trade a 4Th round draft pick for the 8 year pro. This seems weird because they already have 2 Quarterbacks with Tarvaris Jackson who played 8 games in 2008 and managed 1056 yards, 5 TD's and 2 INT and Gus Frerotte who played 11 games and gained 2157 yards, threw 12 TD and 15 Interceptions.

From that you can see they didnt have what you call a franchise QB but luckily neither do some of the other teams in there division who are reportedly looking for a QB the lions are linked with Mathew Stafford in the draft as they have the 1st pick. Also the Bears who are linked with any QB that has any possibility of moving teams.

But if you look at Rosenfels stats he hasn't really produced in the NFL, this could be put down to the lack of starting time he has had, only putting up 4156 yards and 30 TD in the 32 games he has played in over his 8 year career and lets not forget his 29 interceptions he has thrown. But maybe with a solid running game and a starting spot he could come through and take the vikings to the playoffs and maybe further.

Harrison out of Indy

Many people thought that Marvin Harrison would leave Indianapolis Colts with his career in a body bag. But yet another legend has left the Colts this year, first the legendary Tony Dungy said goodbye after 7 years and 1 Superbowl, But he will always be remembered as the first African American to win the Superbowl.

Harrison refused to take a pay cut to help out the teams financial position, so the colts came to a decision that they could not afford to keep him at the club any longer unless he agreed to take a home town discount.

In the end the teams did come to a agreement but it was to part ways after 13 seasons together, it is not yet official but they will save around $7 millions, although there is still around $ 6.4 millions in dead money. But don't worry they still come out with a $7 million extra salary cap.

But this was not a total surprise seeming how much the colts were paying him and how he performed last season. He holds most of receiver records for the colts and has the most NFL Pass Receptions in a season with 143, i am sure that the colts will miss his receiving threat and also a great Friends more than most Peyton Manning.

Harrison wanted to test the open market for the first time in his career as many players want to do at some stage in the career, he will want to go to a club were he can win another Superbowl ring and will get the money he wants.

But i don't think we have seen the last of him and may have a few more seasons left in the tank to make his already hall of fame career even better than it is now. There is no worry that he will be inducted in to the hall of fame the only question left to ask if when will he feel that enough is enough.
